ASTER+ es un is a light-cured dental composite indicated for anterior and posterior restorations. It combines three opacity levels, a range of shades and a consistency that makes it easier to sculpt dental anatomy. Its formulation contains an organic matrix of Bis-GMA, TEGDMA and EBPDMA, together with an inorganic filler content of 73–78% by weight and 56–63% by volume. The nano CF 2.0 filler consists of silica (SiO₂) and zirconia (ZrO₂) nanoclusters, with particles measuring approximately 50 to 200 nm. This composition supports handling, mechanical strength and a polished finish.
What is ASTER+ indicated for?
This Kiyomi Dental composite can be used for direct and indirect restorations in anterior and posterior teeth. Its applications also include core build-ups, orthodontic attachments, sealing implant screw access channels and dental splinting.
Strength, aesthetics and clinical monitoring
ASTER+ has a compressive strength of 321 MPa and a flexural strength of 140 MPa, properties relevant to restorations exposed to functional loads. Its polymerisation shrinkage is 1.06%, and its stated depth of cure is 2.50 mm.
It offers good polishability and gloss retention. Fluorescence similar to natural enamel helps restorations blend with the smile, while high radiopacity makes them easier to identify during radiographic reviews. Water sorption is 17 µg/mm³, and water solubility is 0.7 µg/mm³.
Shades and presentation
ASTER+ is available in shades A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1, C2, OA2 and EA2, in a 4 g syringe. Its easy-close cap can be opened and closed with one hand during the procedure.
