Flowable composite for dental restorations

Aster Flow + is a light-cured flowable restorative composite from Kiyomi Dental, indicated for treating carious lesions and minor defects in tooth structure. Its flowable consistency and self-levelling technology help the material spread within the cavity preparation, supporting precise placement and close adaptation to tooth surfaces. It combines ease of handling, an aesthetic finish and mechanical properties suited to a range of restorative applications.

The organic matrix of Aster Flow + contains the methacrylate resins Bis-GMA, TEGDMA and EBPADMA. Its inorganic filler, which accounts for approximately 60–65% by weight, combines silane-treated barium glass and Ca-Zr silicate. The particles measure approximately 0.01 to 3 µm. This formulation contributes to the composite’s strength and its visibility on radiographs.

Its properties include a flexural strength of 130 MPa, polymerisation shrinkage of 1.35%, water absorption of 19 µg/mm³ and water solubility of 0.48 µg/mm³. It also offers radiopacity of over 300%, ease of polishing and long-lasting gloss.
