Zarc petals allow optimal control of the frequency of use and fatigue of instruments. They record the number of uses or sterilization cycles on manual instruments.
If used on rotary instruments, one to four segments of the wheel are removed after each treatment. The number of remaining segments indicates the possible subsequent uses.
The working protocol would be as follows:
Straight canals, with slight or wide curvatures: remove 1 petal.
Narrower canals or with pronounced curvatures: remove 2 petals.
Canals with very pronounced, S-shaped, very narrow, or calcified curvatures: remove 4 petals.
